Birthday Party!

To generate party conversation, let's say we play a little game. *g*

Ask me anything- anything at all, so long as it's fandom related (no personal disclosures tonight).

And selenak, before you ask (because I so know you're going to *g*), the updates for Enemies & Allies will be up by Wednesday at the latest.

The Monster List of My Fandoms, Past & Present

Chicago Hope

Boston Public (Scott Guber)
Stargate SG-1 (Jack and Daniel)
Babylon 5 (Vir, Londo and G'Kar. Duh.)
Farscape (Pilot! Still! OMG!)

@#*(DFSDf posting problems...

I can't give you a good birthday present, but I can hopefully give you a fit of shellshocked laughter. I hope you haven't seen it before.

http://home1.gte.net/longrj2/fluff/b5anime/b5_anime_chara.html shows just how very, very wrong Babylon 5 could have gone. Begging your pardon, but I'm just going to quote the descriptions of two characters you never thought you wouldn't recognise....

MOLARI: Cold, Ambassador of Centauri Republic. His naughty tentacle can play a card. Sworn enemys of Narn.

VIR: Loyal retainer and batsman of Molari, has an eye of beauty to the Earthian and Narn. Sworn enemy of Morden.

Besides the "what?" factor, there are some real gems in there. Like, apparently Sinclair is from Russia, Ivanova fights Sheridan for control of Star Furies, and there's this other character named Leneer who is

... boy to Minbari, but with good hitting. Loyal retainer and batsman of Dellin, and acolyte of the temple. He will Do for his Lady.
I giggled through all of this, but you know what a sad fangirl you are when your FIRST reaction, other than the giggling, is: "But Bester is a P 12!"
Not "But Bester doesn't have horns!"? I'm impressed.
Well, after having seen Delenn's, or rather, Dellin's likneness earlier...

(Besides, I know which of the two Al would object to.*g* Now the fact they promoted him to leader of the Corps wouldn't trouble him at all...)
*is still giggling at the bit about Talia*
"She is a Psi-Corper and former wife to Garibaldi."
Not quite...

Re: @#*(DFSDf posting problems...

His naughty tentacle can play a card.

LMAO! Oh my God, someone please make an icon out of this!

Many thanks for the link!

Re: @#*(DFSDf posting problems...

*ROTFL* Please do a Google search for "Londo tentacle" now, and see what comes up third and fourth... Somehow I think that's very fitting *L*

And Happy Birthday!

Re: @#*(DFSDf posting problems...

Oh, and...

Tentacle Porn!

Re: @#*(DFSDf posting problems...

Squee! Thank you!

Re: @#*(DFSDf posting problems...

I don't know what amuses me more: the idea of Vir playing cricket, that Kosh is apparently a mysterious author, or that Babylon 5 is referred to as a castle.

And it's got me wondering about what B5 would be like as an anime. Everyone would be improbably young and beautiful. Or improbably imortal and beautiful ...

Re: @#*(DFSDf posting problems...

- There would be sliding combat stripes and hand-to-hand brawls whenever a motion was introduced in the council

- Ivanova would keep a giant mallet with her at all times. Her mouth would be wider than her head.

- Talia would play the flute and flee softly at the sight of men

- Kosh would be a giant fuzzy animal. He'd keep trying to help the humans, but they can't understand his adorable language of grunts and squeals.

- Lyta would be an eight-year-old child prodigy/schoolgirl, and Psi Cops would be giant roiling demons possessing the bodies of Earth's best and sexiest heroes.

- One Star Fury wing would be tough professional all-girl pirates/mercenaries/soldiers accompanied by a cute robot. Apparent skill notwithstanding, they would run into serious trouble once a week and have to be rescued by the mysterious Sheridan Mask, whom nobody recognises as Sheridan.

You know, there are many disturbing ideas inherent in B5: The Anime but this one really cracked me up.

Never mind how poor Londo and Vir would fair, what with the unfair portrayal of beings with tentacles in anime ...
