Birthday Party!

To generate party conversation, let's say we play a little game. *g*

Ask me anything- anything at all, so long as it's fandom related (no personal disclosures tonight).

And selenak, before you ask (because I so know you're going to *g*), the updates for Enemies & Allies will be up by Wednesday at the latest.

The Monster List of My Fandoms, Past & Present

(Favorite characters, if I have any, are in parentheses.)

St. Elsewhere (Dr. Craig was an excellent bastard... and of course, Elliot Axelrod. Shut UP!)
Star Trek (Dr. McCoy and the whole frelling cast of DS9)
Chicago Hope
Early Edition
Boston Public (Scott Guber)
Stargate SG-1 (Jack and Daniel)
Babylon 5 (Vir, Londo and G'Kar. Duh.)
Farscape (Pilot! Still! OMG!)

Happy birthday!

Alright: what's your favourite episode of Farscape so far? (Or episodes. I know I couldn't pick just one.)
So far, I would say The Way We Weren't. But I'm sure the list will grow. *g*

Happy birthday!

And good to know about Enemies and Allies.

So, how far are you with Farscape? (For starters.)

Re: Happy birthday!

I just finished the Look at the Princess trilogy tonight. And let me tell you, the description on the back of the DVD case is horrid. Based on that summary, I was very skeptical going in. Fortunately, I was pleasantly blown away. *g*

They are beginning to add some more political layers to this universe. I like that. I like the concept of the Sebacean PK's having an enemy with which they are competing for influence. And I grow more and more eager to learn the specifics of Scorpy's motivations.

And, I still cry over Pilot and am still very drawn to the humanity of Moya.

Chiana/D'Argo, on the other hand... meh. I'm not really feeling the chemistry. However, as it stands now, I like John/Aeryn with its tenseness.

Happy birthday!

And, the question: is the English language capable of describing just how hot Dr. Bashir is?

Dr. Bashir is not really my type, but yes, I suppose I can understand the appeal. ;)
Ah. The answer to that question goes back to my brief second season Vir essay. In summary: I took notice of Vir as a serious character in The Geometry of Shadows, much earlier than most of fandom generally acknowledges him. Standing his ground with Elric, his non-verbal suspicion of Refa (watch him closely in the background), his quiet nudging of Londo- all of those things suggested that there was much more to him than met the eye. And all the events that followed in the second season and beyond absolutely confirmed this belief.

As for what cemented the love? Lots of things. "If I leave, you'll be alone." "He will need me." His scene with Londo in The Long Night, which just hurts so much. Etc. Etc. He has precious few scenes over the course of the series compared to many of the other regulars, but what he does have tends to count in a big way.

Happy Birthday!

So, if you were going to have Vir meet any two people (including Pilot and Moya) from Farscape, who whould they be, and what would they then do?
*wanders over to Kerne*

Just wanted to say I loved the last entries of Crichton's, both the dream job one and the angsty take on the RP situation!
Many happy returns of the day!

So. You're sitting down and J. Michael Straszinsky pops up out of nowhere and sits on your desk. He tells you that he's here to consult you as the world's leading expert on Vir. Furthermore, he's been given a chance to go back in time to edit Babylon 5, and has been making the rounds of people giving him advice (he's just finished dealing with a hoard of Lennier advocates, or if not a hoard, okay, maybe three). He asks, "O Hobsonphile, should I change anything in Vir or his behaviour? Take a certain scene out? Put one in? Add a quirk, take one away? It's all up to you."

And you reply...

I would definitely ask that Vir be brought in more for the fifth season Centauri arc. I want to know, for example, what Londo told Vir when he returned from Centauri Prime after In the Kingdom of the Blind and how Vir reacted to whatever information Londo gave him, if he gave him any information at all.

And I would certainly ask for more than just two brief scenes with Lennier. Those boys are so cute together with their mutual alien confusion and their curiosity.

And, I would ask for more interaction with G'Kar. There's a potential for an interesting relationship lurking around in there somewhere.
Happy birthday again! And again!
Question? All right, here is my question: how long time you began to take part in RPs, and whether you participated in other RPs on B5 in the past?
I ask about it, because you superb feel your character, and, if to speak frankly, this RP one of the best, from in whom I took part (well...what why I torment the English language) %-Ð
I also want to notice, that if not your site Enemies & Allies, I never would find out this RP. And the first diary of which I have simply become engrossed in reading, was the diary of emperor Cotto . You are magnificent, and your Vir is the most true Vir from all!
Thank you for your very kind words! Believe it or not, this is the very first RP I've ever been involved in. It's complete insanity, but I love it!

@#*(DFSDf posting problems...

I can't give you a good birthday present, but I can hopefully give you a fit of shellshocked laughter. I hope you haven't seen it before.

http://home1.gte.net/longrj2/fluff/b5anime/b5_anime_chara.html shows just how very, very wrong Babylon 5 could have gone. Begging your pardon, but I'm just going to quote the descriptions of two characters you never thought you wouldn't recognise....

MOLARI: Cold, Ambassador of Centauri Republic. His naughty tentacle can play a card. Sworn enemys of Narn.

VIR: Loyal retainer and batsman of Molari, has an eye of beauty to the Earthian and Narn. Sworn enemy of Morden.

Besides the "what?" factor, there are some real gems in there. Like, apparently Sinclair is from Russia, Ivanova fights Sheridan for control of Star Furies, and there's this other character named Leneer who is

... boy to Minbari, but with good hitting. Loyal retainer and batsman of Dellin, and acolyte of the temple. He will Do for his Lady.
I giggled through all of this, but you know what a sad fangirl you are when your FIRST reaction, other than the giggling, is: "But Bester is a P 12!"
happpppppppppppy birthday!
Happy birthday!!!

Happy Birthday!

If you had to write the final episode of Boston Public, how would you end the series?

Re: Happy Birthday!

As I said on IM, it's difficult for me to say, seeing as I stopped watching in protest before the show officially ended. Before that though, I'd always secretly wished that some new charter school would snatch Scott up. ;) Or that Scott would ditch administration entirely. He always seemed happier when he was teaching, despite his ambitions to the contrary.

But really, the only thing that I require is a send off that treats all the characters properly and with dignity. No gimmicks. No overbearing messages. Just something quiet and respectful.

Early Edition

So, are you coming to the convention ;) ?

Re: Early Edition

Maybe. ;) The only problem is, I'm planning another big trip in September (to Dragon*Con in Atlanta) and may not have the funds. I know for sure when we get closer to the date.

But while you're here, do you know where I can get shiny EE icons like yours? *g* *squees*
Did I miss the party? Well, better late than never...

Happy birthday, hope you had a great day!

*wanders off to see if there's any cake left*
Thank you! And by all means, have some cake. *g*

You may also ask me a fandom-related question, if you're interested in what goes on in this fangirl's mind. *g*
