The Observations of
soulonds9, New Stargate SG-1 Viewer: Part I
My little brother is nearly finished with the first season of Stargate SG-1, and the above was his choice observation of this evening. I, naturally, laughed out loud.
I'm not a dyed-in-the-wool SG1 fan. I enjoy it, certainly- particularly the earlier seasons. Possibly the show's biggest strength is the overwhelming likability (and, yes, as
Meanwhile, I have now met Chiana. Those Nebari are charming little totalitarians, aren't they? Ripped right out of A Clockwork Orange, me thinks. But now that I'm starting to get acquainted with our tricky, nubile, bendy young friend, I am beginning to see some glimmers of ideas for the MULTIVERSE FICATHON OF DOOM! Oh, yes. *eg*
And yes, the Nebari are. (A second season is called A Clockwork Nebari.) Chiana, eh? Here to stay, and one of Farscape's most popular characters. Would comment further but am forbidden by ficathon secrecy.** Also, that episode, Durka's Return, offers an important bit of backstory for Rygel - he's not just comic relief.
*on and off watcher of Stargate, but not a fan either*
*off to check*
Hey, according to IMDB there's a new Highlander movie coming up!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0299981/
Also: I'm relieved not to be the only woman who can't see the Daniel appeal...
The rest of the time... well, the rest of the time, I'm squeeing over tentacle pr0n and wishing little Vir would get some hot lovin'... or I'm fiercly defending a priggish, socially awkward, middle-aged vice principal... or... etc. You get the picture. *g*
Absolutely! I'll admit that I squealed (umm, quietly ;)) when I saw X-Men 2 for the first time and realized that no-one but Peter Wingfield was playing Stryker's assistant *G*
As for that movie - from the comments at IMDB I gathered that the projects seems to have been "in pre-production" for a while now. No idea if that means that it's never going to happen...
My favourite ep is the first one I watched, forced by a friend who got an instant convert who then had to catch up with all the ones she missed. I'm hopeless with titles; It was the one where they kept looping in time and Jack and Teal'c were the only ones who realised it.
My favourite scene is where they swap bodies (an idea also done in Farscape and which I shamelessly stole for a B7 fic) and those two arrive back looking pissed off. Someone asks if the mission went well. "It did not," Jack says solemnly. Teal'c looks at him incredulously. "Ya think?" Damn, I love that.
And yes, the body swap episode is also a riot. *g*
Now you've put me in the mood for some good comic Jack&Teal'c buddy fic...
Yeah, I watched that time-loop ep about 3 times. It's superb. The body-swap one was so well-done, you were never in any doubt of who was where. The Farscape version was rather more confusing and they had to wear ID tags in the end.
And yay for ideas for the Ficathon Of Doom!
The nice thing about Chi is, she's a gigantic slut (and I mean that in the nicest possible way.) I dare say you can find some way to get her into bed with most people *g*.
If you need a FS knowledgeable beta when you're done, btw, I'm sure Sabine and I would both be willing to help out.
Hee. Yes, I noticed that right away. This story will likely turn out to be the smuttiest thing I've ever written. *g* (Which, I admit, is not saying much, considering how lily pure most of my stories have been. *g*)
And thank you for your offer to beta. I will probably take you up on it.
Chiana has that effect on people, I think *g*.
And thank you for your offer to beta. I will probably take you up on it.
It's the least I can do after sticking you with that assignment in the first place.
