Now I REALLY can't wait for Dragon*Con!

My panel suggestion regarding the presentation of genocide on Babylon 5 (inspired by discussions with selenak) has been plopped into the American Sci Fi track schedule. I am fifteen kinds of excited now- but just imagine how excited I will be if they assign me to that panel as a speaker. *g* Witness me plead to the fandom gods...

Are you going to be attending the Firefly/Serenity panel?
Which one? There are several on the schedule. *g*

I will be attending all Firefly panels that don't conflict with anything else I want to do/see. One of those will certainly be one of the big guest panels and one of those will be a Joss panel.

Have you seen Serenity yet?
No. The selfish Browncoats in DC haven't allowed me a shot at getting tickets. :(
That's just like them too. Sorry about that. Only 79 days left til the big premiere though. Not long at all.
I'm a little grumpy, obviously, about missing out, but I do try to put it into perspective: My friends overseas have to wait for the big premiere as well. So we'll all be ignorant together. *squishes selenak, et. al.*
Yeah, I can understand. I'm surprised I got so lucky. I NEVER get lucky when it comes to fandom, but I did this time. Well, you do get to go to Dragon Con, and I don't, and I'm waayyyy jealous about that so we're even. Well, you're better on me, since you'll get to see Serenity eventually, and me meeting Joss? At a Dragon Con? Not bloody likely.
Want an autograph? Or five? I'll be collecting for others, so... ;)

Which reminds me that I need to get those B5 novels out in the mail for you. *facepalm*
I was thinking about that the other day, but I just figured maybe you were no longer interested. Hey, since you are now into Buffy, I actually have some Buffy novels you would like. Actually, I have an entire box full of Buffy and Angel books, but I won't read them because I'm very picky, and a lot of them are probably crappy. But the ones I do have are 4 parts to one story, and it's very good. Very dark and apocalypty, and the resolution is more complicated than I thought it would be. I thought you might like them. They are called "The Lost Slayer" and you can look it up on amazon.com if you like. When I'm done with the B5 novels, I'll send them back to you with the Lost Slayer novels, and then you can send those back when you're done with them.

"The Lost Slayer" takes place in season 4 of Buffy, so I won't send those to you until you're well into that season. How far are you now? Are you going to try watching Angel too? I recommend that, even if it's difficult to get into in the first season, because by the third season your heart will be breaking. But in a good way. If I know your taste in fictional relationships, I just know the two characters you will fall in love with on that show.
but I just figured maybe you were no longer interested.

No, I haven't lost interest. I just became extremely busy. :\

I am just now getting into the fourth season. My ultimate goal is to get through at least the fifth season by Dragon*Con. As I mentioned before, I'm watching at the speed of Netflix, but I think this goal can be reached (and then some) at my current pace.

Anyway, by the time you finish reading the B5 novels and send them back with the Buffy novels, I should be all clear canon-wise. *g*

Regarding Angel: I'm not sure yet. If enough people recommend it to me, though, I probably will.
Well, what I can say about Angel the series, is that the first season is very detective noir, and starting in the second season, it begins a deeper exploration into Angel's past, the mythology, and his darkness. The relationships really begin to gell in the second season, where new characters are introduced and become main characters, and new magical story arcs run through each season. If you do try out that series, at least remember that the show constantly evolves until the last episode. In my mind, the hokey stand-alone, monster of the week episodes (too many of those in season 1, imo) are worth the story of one of the main characters, because his story is EPIC.

Ooh, I can't wait to hear what you think of Hush. You're going to love Buffy season 4! especially Restless, the last episode. That's my most favorite Buffy ep, when I'm forced to choose a favorite. Please continue to write your thoughts on the series.
I have quite a few RL commitments that are eating up time like it's candy, but I will try to pop in with Buffy thoughts when I can.

And as for Angel, I do see that a number of my most trustworthy friends enjoy it, so I will probably pick it up this fall. *g*
Oh, and autograph? Well, if you can get Joss and any of the other Firefly cast members to personalize an autograph for me, something like "Hey, Spacegirl, stay shiny!" or whatever, that would rock!
